About this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Android app RAM - Real American Moments, made by JustTock. It describes the release configuration, including advertising and error reporting. Some development or test builds may have these disabled.

No account, nothing you type is collected

The app has no sign-up or login. It does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, or location, and it does not access the microphone or camera: you practice speaking out loud, but your voice is never recorded.

Data on your device

The app stores on your device: your subtitle language, which sentences you have seen, the sentences you liked, your playlists, cached audio, the free days you hold, your invite code and how many friends joined, and the update check described below. Cached audio is encrypted with a random key created for your installation. This data stays on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. It is not sent to us, except as described below for the free trial, friend invites and the popular chart.

Loading sentences — Cloudflare

Sentences, translations, and audio are downloaded from our content server hosted on Cloudflare. Like any website, the server receives your IP address, the app's request headers, the time of the request, and which files were requested (which reveals the subtitle language you chose). These are used only to deliver the content and keep the service working, and are kept in Cloudflare's standard logs.

Update check — GitHub Pages and Google Play

When the app opens, it downloads a small file from this website (hosted on GitHub Pages) stating the minimum supported version, and asks the Google Play Store on your phone whether a newer version exists. Nothing is uploaded for this; GitHub and Google receive the usual connection information, such as your IP address.

Errors and crashes — Sentry

When error reporting is enabled, Sentry processes technical error reports to diagnose crashes and improve reliability. Reports may contain stack traces, error messages, app and OS versions, device characteristics, timestamps, a diagnostic installation identifier, and technical events leading up to a failure. Network requests also expose an IP address to the receiving service. We do not attach your liked sentences or anything identifying you to error reports, and do not use screen or session recording. Sentry is used for reliability, not advertising.

Advertising — Unity LevelPlay (ironSource)

The app shows banner and interstitial ads through Unity LevelPlay. When advertising is enabled, LevelPlay processes advertising and app-set identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, device information, interactions with ads, and SDK diagnostic information. This supports ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention, and this data is shared with Unity and its advertising partners for those purposes. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in Android settings.

Free trial check — Cloudflare

The one-day free trial is offered once per device. To keep it that way after the app is reinstalled or its data cleared, the app sends a one-way hash (SHA-256) of the device's Android ID, and our server on Cloudflare stores that hash with the time the trial started. The Android ID itself never leaves your device, and on Android 8 and later it is specific to this app. The hash is used only to prevent misuse of the free trial, never for advertising or analytics, and it cannot be traced back to you: it is not linked to your name, an account, your advertising ID, or anything else we hold.

Friend invites — Google Play and Cloudflare

When you open the invite page, our server on Cloudflare makes an invite code for your device and stores it with the same one-way hash of the Android ID used for the free trial, and the time it was made. The link you share points to RAM on Google Play with your code in it; when a friend installs from it, Google Play hands the code to the app on its first launch (the install referrer). A friend can also type the code in during their first week.

To keep invites to new installs on real phones, joining an invite is checked with the Google Play Integrity API: the app asks Google Play for a signed verdict, and our server has Google decode it to confirm the device is genuine and the app came from Google Play. The verdict is used only for that check and is not stored. The server then records the invited device's hash, the inviting device's hash, whether the link or a typed code was used, and when the invite was joined and its free days collected. This links two device hashes (one device invited another); it does not include names, phone numbers, contacts, accounts, or advertising IDs, and it is used only to give the free days, show you how many friends joined, and prevent misuse.

Sharing goes through the apps you choose (such as KakaoTalk, LINE, WhatsApp, Instagram or TikTok); we receive nothing from them. To show only the apps you have, the app checks on your device whether those particular apps are installed, and reads the country of your SIM or network (or your region setting) to put the apps used there first. Neither the list nor the country leaves your device. The picture card with your code and QR is made on your device.

Popular chart — Cloudflare

To show which sentences are popular, the app tells our server on Cloudflare when you like or un-like a sentence and when a sentence first goes into, or leaves all of, your playlists. Each report contains only the sentence's episode number, whether it was a like or a playlist, and a random installation identifier the app creates for this purpose, so each installation counts once per sentence. It contains no playlist names, no Android ID or advertising ID, and nothing linked to your name or an account. The server keeps these counts to rank sentences for everyone and uses them for nothing else. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data ends the link to that random identifier; earlier counts stay anonymous.

Sharing and security

Data reaches Cloudflare to deliver content, check the free trial, run friend invites and count the popular chart, GitHub and Google for the update check, Google for invite checks, Sentry for error reports, and Unity for ads, as described above. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run analytics or use error reports to build advertising profiles. All connections use HTTPS/TLS. These providers may process data outside your country under their published safeguards and policies.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

We keep no account or profile about you. Data on your device is removed when you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. The free trial record (a hash and a start time) is kept so the trial stays once per device; it holds nothing that identifies you. Popular-chart counts (an episode number, a kind and a random installation identifier) are kept for ranking and hold nothing that identifies you either. Invite records (device hashes, how and when an invite was joined and its free days collected) are kept while the invite event runs, so each phone is invited only once, and deleted within one year after it ends; to have yours deleted sooner, email us your invite code. Server logs, error reports, and ad data are kept and deleted by Cloudflare, Sentry, and Unity under their own policies and retention settings. For access, deletion, or other privacy requests, email the privacy contact; never send passwords. Privacy inquiries are kept only as long as needed to handle them or meet legal obligations.

Age and policy changes

RAM is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We update this page when service providers or data practices change, revise the date above, and provide additional notice or ask for consent where required.
